Fire Maintenance Assistant
Job Description
They are currently in need of a Fire Maintenance Assistant to join their team.  The Fire Maintenance Assistant works closely with the Facilities Protection Technician to ensure the serviceability and reliability of emergency response vehicles, fixed fire protection systems and emergency response equipment.
1st Shift 7a-3:30p
$18.50 - $20/hr., depending upon skills
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections and maintenance on:
- Emergency vehicles & equipment inventories
- SCBA’s and breathing air compressors
- Fire pumps and hydrants
- Fire hose and appliances
- Fixed fire suppression systems
- Documentation and filing of inspections and maintenance
- Perform daily maintenance activities as needed
- Assist with minor cleanup operations in the plant involving chemistry
- Additional duties as assigned
Skills, Qualifications, Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent from an accredited school
- Able to follow safe work procedures and understand specific instructions for all tasks
- Able to climb and lift 50Â lbs.
- Able to work well with others
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
- Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines on multiple tasks
- Valid Driver's License
Considered a Plus:
- Previous experience with fire protection and emergency response equipment
- Experience with fire department or chemical plant operations
Working Conditions:
- Must be willing/able to work in a chemical plant environment
- Must be willing/able to occasionally work outdoors in inclement weather
- Ability to work overtime/weekends, as required
