Job Description
Vector's client in Cuyahoga County is looking for an Engineering Manager.
Position Summary:
Manage Process, Development Engineering departments, QA, and QC Lab in supporting and attaining goals in strategic projects and operating objectives. Perform materials and process development in support of process and product technology requirements. Identification of new material sources and qualification to ensure continuing supply for new and existing product requirements.

Essential Functions:
- Decision-making within management staff for the effective operation of the company.
- Supervise Engineers, Supervisors, and Specialists. Assignment, planning, execution, and
- Documentation of projects and tasks pursuant to business goals.
- Support of plant functions in development, product, and process engineering for defining and troubleshooting processes used to produce quality products.
- Provide technical assistance to Sales and Marketing in the areas of material processing,
- properties and performance as related to specific applications.
- Analysis of products returned from the field and competitive products for determining modes of failure and performance.
- Identify, develop, and implement new process methods, raw materials, and equipment in
- support of new products, improved process/product capabilities, cost reduction, and quality improvement.
- Technical interface with external organizations, i.e., academic, and technical consultants that provide special analytical capabilities not currently available
- Administer performance reviews of salaried personnel within the department.
- Plan, meet, or undershoot annual budgets for Process and Development Engineering, QA, and QC Laboratory.
- Direct and support the activities of departments supervised.
- Management Representative for Quality.
- Develop and produce of prototype products for evaluation in the field in
- support of strategic initiatives.
- Troubleshoot problems in production processes where sales are at risk.
- Work with other staff members to meet EBIT and cash flow goals.
- Develop and achieve Engineering, QA, and QC Laboratory goals.
- Investigate new equipment, materials, and technologies that may benefit present and future business goals.
- Report weekly department priorities and statuses sufficient to meet the transparency needs of peers and managers.
- Maintain a clear presence on the manufacturing plant floor.
- Routine KIV/KOV statistical analysis of manufacturing processes.
