Vector's partner in Lake County is seeking a hands-on Continuous Improvement Engineer to help improve on-time delivery, production efficiency, and manufacturing processes within our fabrication and assembly operations. This is a highly visible role that works directly with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to identify problems, eliminate waste, and implement sustainable process improvements.

Responsibilities

· Drive initiatives that improve on-time delivery (OTD), labor efficiency, and production flow.

· Spend time on the production floor daily identifying bottlenecks, part shortages, and process inefficiencies.

· Partner with production supervisors to resolve manufacturing issues and prevent recurring problems.

· Conduct time studies, analyze production data, and develop standard work.

· Lead root cause investigations using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools.

· Coordinate improvement projects across Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain.

· Track key performance metrics and provide recommendations that improve productivity and reduce rework.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.

· 3-7 years of manufacturing or production experience.

· Experience with assembly operations and sheet metal fabrication preferred.

· Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt preferred), time studies, and root cause analysis.

· Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

· Comfortable working on the shop floor and collaborating with employees at all levels.
