Vector's partner is seeking a Production Support Specialist (PSS) who will play a critical role in supporting manufacturing operations by coordinating materials, helping with vendor relationships, and ensuring the timely movement of parts throughout the production process. This position serves as a liaison between the CNC Machining Department, outside vendors, shipping carriers, and internal teams to ensure parts are delivered accurately and on schedule

Salary is based on experience.

Responsibilities:

• Support the CNC Machining Department by coordinating the flow of materials and outsourced processes.
• Create and manage Purchase Orders (POs) for outside vendors.
• Expedite vendor orders to meet production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
• Track parts and materials throughout the United States using various freight carriers.
• Investigate and resolve shipment issues, including lost, delayed, or damaged parts.
• Identify and coordinate replacement of scrapped or nonconforming parts to minimize production delays.
• Verify Department of Transportation (DOT) serial numbers and maintain accurate documentation.
• Receive incoming parts and inspect shipments for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate drop shipments between suppliers, subcontractors, and customers.
• Establish and manage shipping carriers to ensure efficient and cost-effective transportation.
• Communicate expedited shipping requirements and associated costs with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Package parts for shipment while ensuring proper protection and labeling.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, purchase orders, vendor communications, and inventory transactions.
• Work closely with production, purchasing, quality, and shipping departments to resolve issues quickly.
• Assist with inventory organization and material movement as needed.

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical training preferred.
• Previous experience in manufacturing, production support, logistics, purchasing, or supply chain preferred.
• Experience working in a CNC machining or precision manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ERP/MRP systems is preferred.
• Strong understanding of shipping, receiving, purchasing, and inventory processes.
• Ability to read and interpret manufacturing documentation and purchase orders.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
