Vector's Aerospace partner is seeking to train a skilled CNC machinist to move into a Precision OD/ID Grinder role and use state of the art equipment. You would be responsible for setting up and operating precision grinding equipment to manufacture aerospace components with extremely tight dimensional and geometric tolerances. This position requires strong knowledge of grinding principles, blueprint interpretation, GD&T, and precision inspection techniques while maintaining compliance with AS9100 quality standards.

Hourly is based on experience.

1st and 2nd shift with a flex start time 
* Overtime is after 8 hours

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC and/or manual OD and ID grinding machines.
• Grind precision aerospace components to blueprint specifications.
• Hold dimensional tolerances to ±0.0001 inch or better where required.
• Maintain geometric tolerances including roundness, concentricity, cylindricity, runout, and perpendicularity.
• Achieve specified surface finishes as required by engineering drawings.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, process sheets, and GD&T.
• Select, mount, balance, and dress grinding wheels.
• Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring instruments.
• Utilize micrometers, bore gauges, indicators, air gauges, height gauges, optical comparators, and CMM reports as required.
• Monitor wheel wear and adjust offsets to maintain process capability.
• Troubleshoot grinding conditions including chatter, burn, taper, size variation, and surface finish issues.
• Maintain compliance with AS9100, customer specifications, and company quality procedures.
• Document inspection results and maintain accurate production records.

Qualifications:

Required

• 3-5 years in a Mill or Lathe experience in an aerospace, automotive or high-precision manufacturing environment.
• Experience holding tolerances of ±0.0002 inch or tighter; ±0.0001 inch preferred.
