Vector Technical has partnered with one of the leading suppliers of metal in Solon, Ohio and they are looking for a Material Handler to join their team!

1st Shift M-F 7a-3:30p with OT opportunities
$up to $22/hr., depending upon experience

Job Summary
Assists operator in pulling and preparing raw material for upcoming production orders by staging product. Assists in the removal of materials from production area to packaging for preparation of shipments. Assists operators with packaging material required for orders (ie cutting cores, corrugated, etc). Helps unload 
raw materials inbound from our vendors.  

Responsibilities

• Package, handle, and protect finished materials and raw materials produced on machines.  
• Load and unload materials for shipping and receiving of products 
• Label materials going back to stock.  
• Assist other operators in the setup of production orders (ie core cutting, packaging materials, etc).  
• At times, assists the operators to help operate and run machine that slits product to customer specifications and dimensions according to work orders.  
• Inspects material to make sure it matches what is required for the orders (ie gauge, width sign offs) 
• Locate and stage materials for upcoming orders and put back raw materials to correct location 
• Unloads inbound vendor material and inspects it per our requirements.  
• Performs other duties and assignments as directed by management. 

• Previous experience working in a production facility 
• Tow motor driving experience preferred  
• Must be able to read a tape measure 
• Mathematical aptitude 
• Ability to perform a variety of tasks on a daily basis 
• Willingness to adapt to different production functions throughout the shop 
• Ability to read/understand specifications. 
• Ability to read measuring devices such as ruler, caliper, dial indicator, micrometer and scale 
• Follow written safety procedures 
• Manufacturing experience preferred 
• Regular and punctual attendance 
• High school diploma/GED minimum 
• Fork lift Certification a plus 
• Basic computer skills a plus
