Job Description
Vector's partner located in Cleveland, OH offers a complete package of stainless steel pipe, tubing, fittings, outlets, thread tape, flanges and valves as well as the nation’s largest, most comprehensive inventory of both leaded & lead-free cast brass fittings, flanges and pipe. They are looking for a Packing Associate to join their team!
1st Shift (M-F 3p-11:30p)
$16.50/hr. + 10% shift diff = $18.15/hr.
Responsibilities
• Interpret and verify part being produced against ticket/traveler (material, diameter, thread type, etc.)
• Pack, cap or box pipe nipples according to the appropriate procedures.
• Understanding of scanning procedure to effectively start and end production jobs using the data collection system
• Perform constant visual quality inspection (torn threads, crooked threads, etc.)
• Communicate machine or quality problems to the Packing Supervisor
• Identify, pick, inspect and process Special Process Orders per customer request
• Properly leave work area ready for next shift
• Perform other duties that may be assigned to support overall company operations
• Willingness and ability to work overtime when asked by a manager or supervisor
Requirements:
High school graduate, G.E.D., or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to do basic high school level math.
• Standing, sitting, reaching, climbing up/down stairs and bending for entire shift
• Capable of lifting up to 20 lbs. frequently, 50 lbs. occasionally
• Able to use and read a scale/ruler up to 1/32”
• Excellent work habits including punctuality, attendance, and work ethic along with flexible scheduling hours as needed
• Ability to perform effectively under conditions of fluctuating workload
• Knowledge of basic computer skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook, and RF Scanning
• Willing and able to continuously improve yourself, others, and the operations in a fast-paced, changing environment
• Capacity to work in a total quality management environment with continuous process improvement
