CNC Mill Machinist
Job Description
1st Shift (6:30a - 3:00p)
$20+/hr. to start, depending upon skills and experience
POSITION SUMMARY:
Operate computer numerical control machines to fabricate parts. Load parts in machine, cycle machine, detect malfunctions in machine operations such as worn or damaged cutting tools. Run production lots, communicate with co-workers regarding productions runs, and maintains safe, organized, and clean work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Perform typical machine shop operations.
- Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designee.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures.
- Perform, but not limited to, the following tasks: milling, turning, drilling, tapping, de-burring, sawing, and sanding.
- Perform inspection of machined products (including documentation of results).
- Complete and maintain paperwork for parts.
- Assist in other work areas, as needed.
- Must be able to frequently lift/push/pull objects that are 85 pounds or heavier.
- High School Diploma or graduation from certified technical school.
- Minimum 1 year of related experience with drilling, tapping and milling speeds and feeds in various materials including steel, stainless steel and aluminum. Prefer experience with Haas VF3-APC mills with pallet changers.
- Must be able to setup machine, make program corrections (offsets, etc.) and inspect parts using precision measuring equipment.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing (basic oral instructions, simple written memos and instructions).
- Familiarity with Haas controls
- Must be able to read and interpret drawings, follow routers, use math to perform basic calculations, and use basic hand-held measuring tools including, but not limited to: micrometers, calipers and functional gauges (thread & plug).
