Ceramic Assembler
Job Description
Do you like arts and crafts? Are you looking to get your foot in the door with a growing and stable manufacturer? Our partner has been serving the industrial thermal processing industry for the last 126 years and they are looking for a Ceramic Assembler to join their team!Â
1st Shift Monday - Friday 7a - 3:30pÂ
$17/hr. to start (increase upon hire-in)Â
Position Summary:
This position is expected to perform a variety of ceramic assembly tasks as well as some machine operation. The job entails pressing ceramic materials into various shapes and configurations, then assemble the finished ceramics into assemblies.
Responsibilities:
• Weighs specified quantities of material based on manufacturing orders and process instructions for mixing.Â
• Loads, operates, and unloads manual and semi-automatic presses with ceramic material toÂ
produce a variety of ceramic shapes and configurations.Â
• Cleans and de-flashes pressed product prior to final processing.Â
• Loads, operates, and unloads ceramic dryers and kilns.Â
• Inspects products for potential defects.Â
• Assembles different ceramic components into final products.Â
• Performs additional duties as needed related to ceramics processing.Â
• Utilizes material handling equipment to transport material between areas within production area, including pallet jacks, dollies, etc.Â
• Operates all equipment in a safe and orderly manner.Â
• Maintains clean and organized workspace.Â
• Trains additional staff as needed to perform Ceramic department duties.Â
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Â
Qualifications/Requirements:Â
• Must be able to read blueprints, CAD drawings, sketches, written instructions, and interpret data.Â
• Experience in masonry environment a plus.Â
• Ability to use scales and other measuring devices for weighing and sorting materials.Â
• Ability to work independently and within a team.Â
• Ability to work and communicate with all levels of the organization.Â
• Self-motivated in a team environment.Â
Experience / Education:Â
• 1-2 years of experience operating hydraulic or other industrial equipment preferred.Â
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.Â
• Forklift certification preferred but not required - must be able to complete forklift certificationÂ
course if specified by company. Â
• Production / manufacturing experience a plus.Â
• Must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently.Â

I graduated from The University of Akron in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in mass communication with a concentration on radio and TV. Prior to joining Vector Technical Inc., I spent time working as a radio personality/intern for Q104’s morning show, Fee’s Kompany in the Morning. From there, I spent a season working as an in-arena host for the Lake Erie Monsters (Cleveland Hockey Team). In 2013, I had the opportunity to work for WHNT News 19 in Huntsville, Alabama (Fox 8 Sister Station) as an interactive content reporter/producer.
Outside the office, I enjoy cooking, traveling, running, photography, crafting, concerts, and spending time with my family and friends.
