Chemical Operator Helper

Job Description
Vector's partner in Painesville, Ohio manufactures protein based ingredients and private label products. They have an open Chemical Operator Helper position.
Night ShiftÂ
6p-6:15a 4 on/3 off schedule
$18/hr. to start
Utilities Support responsibilities include general assignments that address mechanical separation and materials transfer, helping chemical operators with their daily tasks.
This position could move into Chemical Operator for the right, motivated person!
Assist Chemical Operators to:
- Unload and load materials and supplies.
- Verify and stock department materials and supplies as listed. Note any exceptions to supervisor.
- Operate Hydrogenation Department filter press. Support Hydrogenation Department operations.
- Verify plant’s tank inventories.
- Ensure that containers are available for machine cleanings. Remove and store full containers in designated locations.
- Participate in equipment and physical plant cleaning as assigned and scheduled. Maintain access to safety equipment. Includes confined space cleanouts upon completion of confined space training.
- Maintain work records; recommend improvements and assist with procedure and instruction updates.
- Communicate during emergency -- distinguish alarms and audible signals, execute emergency shutdown.
- Rotate shift or remain on-call under urgent circumstances. Climb, kneel, lift and tolerate inclement weather. Move and connect hoses (up to 4" diameter). Climb ladders and steps. Lift up to 50 pounds.
