Job Description

Our client in Solon, OH designs and manufactures specialty chemical products for various industrial, DIY, and artisanal applications. They are seeking a full-time chemist or part-time Chemist to join their successful team!

Direct Hire
Shift: 8:30 – 5:00 PM (with half-hour lunch)
*Part-Time Work Hours would be Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM until at least 2:00 PM.
$60,000-65,000/yr

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Senior Chemist in formulating new or improved pastes, base or alloy products, applications, and other chemical products.
  • Perform necessary laboratory tests and experiments, analyze, and recommend approaches, solutions, and methods.
  • Assist production, QA, and technical services by performing chemical analysis, troubleshooting, and recommending solutions for customer issues.
  •  Perform small batch/sample manufacture.
  • Enter and maintain standard product bill of materials and routers in ERP system.
  •  Support existing product lines via internal and external customer interaction, including technical service visits.
  • Perform daily housekeeping of laboratory and associated areas, functioning within safety guidelines.
  • Prepare reports and documents detailing project design, results, and conclusions; recommend additional actions or research.
  • Ability to work with a variety of forms, including liquids, gels, pastes, powders, and emulsions
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, metallurgy, or materials science
  • 2-5 years Laboratory experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with design of experiment approach (DOE) and the ability to design, document, report, interpret and present findings as well as design follow-up experiments.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively present information to a variety of people (i.e. customers, public groups, top management, and boards of directors).
  • Ability to operate, maintain, and calibrate a variety of specialized test and lab equipment, including Viscometer, Hydrometer, pH Meter, FITR, SIR Machine, Torches, hot plates and soldering irons, Benchtop and other mixers, and more
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
