Vector Technical's partner is an equipment manufacturer in the mobile food service industry.  They are searching for the right individual to fill their Compliance Electrical Engineer position! 

Direct Hire
$75k-$110k/yr.  
Salaried, non-union position
6a or 7a start time (flexible)
Job Summary:

The compliance/electrical engineer performs and maintains global certifications and leads the electrical design of food service equipment. This equipment meets global standards such as EnergyStar, UL, EN, IEEE, IEC, NSF, and CSA. You will be responsible for regulatory product design, regulatory documentation, developing validation plans, product tests, and assisting in the electrical design and development of the equipment. Develop and implement compliance programs, including risk assessments and corrective action plans, to ensure adherence to regulations and standards. The compliance/electrical engineer is expected to collaborate with all organizational functions, primarily through the NPD (stages and gates) process and the engineering change management system.

Essential Functions:
  • Participate as part of the project design team in the development of new products as assigned by the Director of Engineering
  • Design in 3D models and generate 2D drafts using 3D CAD software (Solid Edge preferred)
  • Able to search for BOMs and routings for new and modified products using INFOR
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing engineer in the development of work instructions for any new products
  • Provide mechanical engineering expertise in estimating the development time required for new products
  • Generate and maintain revision levels of parts and components as dictated by the Engineering Change management system
  • Build/Modify prototype designs in the model shop, recording changes and construction considerations
  • Collaborate with other engineers in the verification and validation testing of new products
  • Provide technical support to Production, Purchasing, Quality and Customer Service as required
  • Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an ABET-certified college or university in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • 5 to 7 years of experience working as an Electrical Engineer or Compliance Engineer (Preferred: Foodservice Equipment)
  • Experience taking products through the certification process
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an Engineering Regulatory/Compliance Role
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must be detail-oriented with emphasis on accuracy and completeness
  • Familiarity with federally regulated and International regulatory agency requirements as it relates to food service equipment as well as laboratory and medical equipment
  • Exposure/basic understanding of Six Sigma quality initiatives highly desirable. (Six Sigma Black Belt preferred)
  • Familiarity with ISO 9000 series documentation and procedures.
  • CE certification exposure/understanding
  • Willingness to understand ANSI/ISO safety labeling requirements
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Familiarity working in an ERP system (Preferred: INFOR/Syteline)
