Shipping Admin
Job Description
They are in search of a Shipping Admin/Customer Service Representative to join their team.
The ideal candidate should have a manufacturing or logistics background with prior ERP experience. Due to this role focusing heavily on the logistics side as it relates to product shipping, someone with a shipping background looking for more of an office position with some customer-facing experience would be preferred.
1st Shift M-F start time between 7:45 am and 8:00 am; end time between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm (depending on workload). Friday end time is typically around 3pm.
$16-$18/hr. (well-qualified candidates could earn more)
Duties & Essential Job Functions:
- Responds to customer requests for orders, quotes and other customer related inquiries.
- Manages expectations with customers and the sales team to clearly communicate commitments such as product availability, delivery date, etc.
- Communicates delays and/or issues to customer or sales rep and works with Plant Manager to resolve any issues.
- Develops and maintains strong business relationships with customers, sales representatives and internal customers.
- Reviews purchase orders and enters information into the ERP system.Â
- Works with shipping department to coordinate shipment activities or to follow up on customer requests.Â
- Maintains ERP system with accurate customer data, holding customers and sales representatives accountable for providing timely/detailed information.
- Updates ERP system as appropriate.
- Creates and reviews reports to determine next day’s shipping priorities and communicates any issues to sales representative/customer.
- Completes clerical tasks including the creation, organization, and scanning of shipping documents. This includes packing slips, invoices, and bill of ladings.
- Utilizes 3PL and Brokers and customer collect accounts for booking freight.
- May gather samples – may manage Sample inventory. This includes shipping samples, keeping sample area clean/organized, pulling from inventory, and communicating with inventory manager.

MINIMUM EDUCATION/DEGREE REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3 or more years of experience in a customer service/logistics type role, with 2 years in a manufacturing/industry setting.
