Vector's manufacturing partner located in Aurora, OH, is a world leader in engineered polymer solutions that seal, damp and protect critical applications in demanding environments. They have a current opening for an Engineering Development Technician to join their team.

Available Shifts:
1st  8a-5p (or 7a-4p or 9a-6p)
Pay Range is $50k-$80k/yr., depending upon skills

Job Summary:
The Engineering Development Technician supports development and drives projects for the Aerospace segment requiring complex tooling design/fabrication and process requirements.  They also support the operations team by assisting with current and new production runs of complex programs by working with a cross functional group, along with leading development trial organization and documentation while providing support to drive projects to their completion.

Responsibilities:
  • Support NSD, NSP, NST, and NSM tooling projects. Involved in designing, fabricating, and trialing new tooling. Work closely in with die shop and production to complete tooling projects in a timely fashion.
  • Work closely with stakeholders within the organization to drive innovation projects and improve quality and profitability.
  • Define and document new job development during and after product launch.
  • Support Engineering Manager with compound development and high priority projects
  • Support tool shop fabrication and training development technicians on complex tooling design and CNC programming when possible.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • AS Degree preferred  (Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical focus) or in process
  • 2+ years of profile extrusion experience preferred in place of degree
  • 2+ years tooling design and fabrication experience in place of degree
  • Technical competence, analytical skills in data analysis & MS Office applications
  • CAD Design capable (Solidworks & AutoCad preferred)
  • CNC Programming or machining experience is a plus
  • Capable problem solver & decision-maker
  • A self- starter, ability to work with limited supervision
  • Organized, ability to manage competing priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to read/ interpret design drawings
  • Strong CAD skills with machine shop knowledge or experience
  • Ability to quickly learn new skill and processes

I also lead, mentor, coach and train the recruiting team to ensure that open positions receive adequate coverage to meet our clients' needs.  

I absolutely love the personal and interpersonal aspects of keeping in touch with individuals throughout the recruiting process. Helping and learning a person’s preferences, both personally and professionally, over time helps me assist them in finding the jobs which make the most sense for them.

I graduated from The University of Akron in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in mass communication with a concentration on radio and TV. Prior to joining Vector Technical Inc., I spent time working as a radio personality/intern for Q104’s morning show, Fee’s Kompany in the Morning. From there, I spent a season working as an in-arena host for the Lake Erie Monsters (Cleveland Hockey Team). In 2013, I had the opportunity to work for WHNT News 19 in Huntsville, Alabama (Fox 8 Sister Station) as an interactive content reporter/producer.

Outside the office, I enjoy cooking, traveling, running, photography, crafting, concerts, and spending time with my family and friends.
