Job Description
Vector Technical's partner is the largest producer of cast nylon in North America. Their people, processes, and their products are recognized as being among the very best in the industry. They are currently seeking the right person to fill their Finisher role.
2nd Shift M-Th, 10-hr. shifts
$18/hr.
Responsibilities:
•   Sets up and operates a variety of saw machines, routers, dowelers, planers, band and table saws to trim product to specified sizes and tolerances.Â
•   Packages and labels product with production information such as size, customer, product type, ship date, and completes appropriate shipping paperwork in as prescribed.Â
•   Assists in placing product into and pulling product from stock as needed. Â
•   Maintains and adjusts production logs and master schedule as appropriate.
•   Operates tow motor as necessary following tow motor safety standards.  Charges or fills tow motor with gas as needed.Â
•   Inspects all products before forwarding to the quality department.Â
•   Makes minor adjustments and performs general maintenance and repairs to equipment including changing and sharpening saw blades.Â
•   Changes and maintains compactor.Â
•   Practices good housekeeping and safety habits, support and follow company policies and procedures, and performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
•   Must be able to maintain an acceptable productivity rating established for each product type.Â
•  Saw/Cutting experience is required
•   Must be able to perform basic preventive maintenance of equipment.Â
•   Must be knowledgeable of continuous improvement methods such as GTO (Scrap reduction).Â
•   Must be able to prioritize work flow.
•   Must be able to quickly and repeatedly make adjustments in moving the controls of a machine to exact positions.
•   Must be able to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
•   High School Graduate (or GED).Â
•   Ability to perform basic math calculations such as decimal/fraction conversions, reading measuring tools.Â
Preferred Skills:
•   Some knowledge of nylon applications helpful.
•   Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
•   Pervious experience with an ISO style quality control system.
