Job Description

Vector's partner, in business since 1977, manufactures wire-wound rods used in coating applications.  They are growing, and looking to add Machine Operators to their team!

Available Shifts:
1st Shift (6a-2:30p) $18/hr.
 2nd Shift  (2p-10:30p)  $18/hr. to start + $1.00 Shift Diff = $19/hr.

Summary:
Operates various production equipment to manufacture products to specifications by performing the following duties personally.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Sets up and operates roll former, saw, mill, chrome plater, buffer, grinder and other equipment as required to complete operations.
  • Troubleshoots machines and make adjustments as required. Performs daily, routine, and preventative machine maintenance.
  • Plans and carries out production goals set by production superintendent based upon customer orders.
  • Performs inspections on material during operation. Works with supervisor to develop quality goals.
  • Moves material into and out of area using material handling devices as required.
  • Builds shipping boxes required for rod shipments. Packages finished rods.
  • Coordinates shipping of competed materials with front office. Labels boxes and coordinate loading of trucks. Assists in loading and unloading raw materials and finished goods.
  • Monitors supplies required for the operation. Places purchase orders as required.
  • Prepares and completes documentation as required.
  • Performs routine housekeeping of area, including the cleaning of machinery.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Problem solving skills.
