Maintenance Technician
Job Description
Salary:Â $25-$30/hr., depending upon experience
Responsibilities:
- Maintains and repairs production machinery and equipment, peripheral machinery and equipment, and plant utilities using mechanical, electrical, pipe fitting and/or welding skills.
- Runs machines and equipment to test performanceÂ
- Troubleshoots sources of downtime, rate or scrap issues on equipment.
- Performs modifications on machines to support efficiencies and output.
- Makes adjustments to functional parts and control instruments of machinery and equipment.
- Installs and sets up new machines for initial production use.
- Maintains all peripheral equipment and machinery in good working order.
- May be responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of plant utilities including steam, water, electric, pneumatic, hydraulic and HVAC systems.Â
- Keeps shop tools and maintenance equipment in good working condition.
- Performs minor building repairs and outdoor maintenance tasks such as snow removal.
- Performs indoor room additions and modifications.
- Initiates purchase orders for parts and maintenance supplies.
- Work overtime as required to support business needs.
- Other tasks and duties as required.
Requirements:
- High School diplomaÂ
- Demonstrated history of being able to work safely
- Strong electrical skills, 480 3 phase experience a plus
- Pipe Fitting/Plumbing knowledge and skills
- Controls experience (PLC)
- Lock Out/Tag Out and Machine Guarding
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and team skills – able to work with and train others.Â
- Strong decision making skills
- Independent and self-starter
- Exhibit sense of ownership and accountability
- Adaptable, willing and interested to learn/do new things
- Stand up to 8+ hours a day
- Lifts loads up to 50+ pounds
- Must be able to tolerate hot conditions
