Job Description
Vector's partner located in Willoughby, OH has been in business for over 25 years, providing precision machined parts to their customer base. They are looking for the right-fit person to fill an open Saw Operator/Material Handler role.
1st Shift M-Th (6a-7a start time), 10-hr. days. OT on Fridays
Pay will be dependent upon experience and skills
Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our team in a dual role as Saw Operator and Material Handler. This person will be responsible for precision cutting of metal billets using a band saw according to client specifications, as well as handling, labeling, stocking, and supplying materials to up to 15 lathe machinists. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, able to work with minimal supervision, and comfortable performing both machine operation and material handling duties.

Responsibilities
Saw Operation
- Operate a band saw to measure, set up, and precision cut metal billets per client specifications.
- Ensure accuracy of cuts by following blueprints, measurement tools, and work orders.
- Maintain saw equipment, perform basic troubleshooting, and report maintenance needs.
- Prioritize and stage cut materials to ensure timely supply to machinists.
Material Handling
- Deliver cut billets and raw materials to up to 15 lathe machinists in a timely and organized manner.
- Unload incoming trucks and verify shipments against packing slips.
- Label, organize, and stock raw materials in proper inventory locations.
- Operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts when required to move and stage material.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages or discrepancies.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a saw operator, machine operator, or material handler preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and measurement tools (tape measure, calipers, micrometers).
- Forklift certification (sit-down and stand-up) or willingness to obtain.
- Strong attention to detail, measurement accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision while supporting production needs.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
