The primary goal of the Manufacturing & Process Engineer is to create the sequences of a manufacturing plan that produces a product in the most time-efficient and cost-effective way possible, while always maintaining employee safety and product quality.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluate manufacturing processes by applying knowledge of the products design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, materials, and operator feedback.
- Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements and equipment layout.
- Assure product and process quality by creating testing methods; finished product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
- Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Provide manufacturing information by answering questions and requests.
- Maintain product and company reputation by complying with all government regulations.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies, when available.
Required Training & Experience
- Associate degree in Engineering or an acceptable equivalent. An acceptable equivalent is at least 2 years prior work experience as a Manufacturing Engineer.
- Advanced knowledge of blueprint reading.
- Solid understanding of industry process specifications.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to deal with complex technical information and recommend manufacturing and inspection methods to the leadership team.
- Ability to present technical information to internal stakeholders, as well as customers and external special process providers.
