Quality Technician
Job Description
Vector's partner has been serving the industrial thermal processing industry for the last 126 years and they are looking for a Quality Technician to join their team!Â
1st Shift: Monday through Friday 7AM-3:30PMÂ
Up to $25/hr., depending upon skills and experience.

Job Summary:
The Quality Technician is responsible for conducting quality control inspections, implementing quality assurance processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve quality-related issues in accordance with ISO 9001. The Quality Technician coordinates projects for quality control of existing or new processes. The Quality Technician understands ISO 9001 to support the quality management system.
Responsibilities:
•   Performs process audits, reports results, and follows through on implementation of corrective actions.
•   Performs inspections on incoming vendor products, 1st Article inspections, final inspections, and internal production as required.
•   Coordinates the gauge management system including researching and purchasing gauges, internal calibrations, and external calibrations.Â
•   Assists in the analysis, investigation, and resolution of quality problems as they arise.
•   Collaborates with production teams to implement and monitor quality assurance processes.
•   Coordinates vendor rejections.
•   Physically moves product from Quality to Warehouse after inspection.
•   Prepares inspection plans and instructions.
•   Prepares and trains applicable employees on work instructions, quality methods, and procedures.
•   Performs internal and external ISO 9001 audits under the guidance of the QC Manager.
•   Controls scrap process, reports costs and trend results to Management.
•   Applies, analyzes, and reports statistical methods for process control.
•   Coordinates internal non-conformances.
•   Updates various quality documents – examples: NC Log, SRMA Log, Gauge Calibration Log.
•   Provides input on process enhancements and participates in quality improvement projects.
•   Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
•   Knows basic inspection and testing concepts; how to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T information, how and when to apply various inspection techniques, and which techniques are appropriate for specific processes.
•   Has a functional understanding/experience with ISO 9001 standards.
•   Ability to work directly with Operations and Engineering in the design of test/gauging equipment for the aid of production process(es).
•   Able to define quality concepts and quality processes according to audience; interpret and concisely communicate complex, technical information, and data; apply quality tools and gauges.
•   Understands the overall root cause analysis & corrective action processes; how to collect and interpret root cause data; how to support the process to identify root causes. Must know the difference between corrective and preventive actions, which to recommend, and how to develop them. Must know appropriate processes to control nonconforming materials.
•   Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments and testing equipment.
Experience / Education:
•   High School degree or equivalent (GED).
•   Two (2) years directly applicable quality inspection experience.
•   Applicable certifications that are a plus:

- Â Â Â ASQ Quality Engineer Certification
- Â Â Â ASQ Quality Auditor Certification
- Â Â Â ASQ Quality Improvement Associate Certification

- Â Â Â ISO 9001 Internal Auditor
•   Production / manufacturing experience a plus.
•   Strong math skills.
•   Strong organizational skills.
•   Must be able to speak and read English fluently.Â

I also lead, mentor, coach and train the recruiting team to ensure that open positions receive adequate coverage to meet our clients' needs.
I absolutely love the personal and interpersonal aspects of keeping in touch with individuals throughout the recruiting process. Helping and learning a person’s preferences, both personally and professionally, over time helps me assist them in finding the jobs which make the most sense for them.
I graduated from The University of Akron in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in mass communication with a concentration on radio and TV. Prior to joining Vector Technical Inc., I spent time working as a radio personality/intern for Q104’s morning show, Fee’s Kompany in the Morning. From there, I spent a season working as an in-arena host for the Lake Erie Monsters (Cleveland Hockey Team). In 2013, I had the opportunity to work for WHNT News 19 in Huntsville, Alabama (Fox 8 Sister Station) as an interactive content reporter/producer.
Outside the office, I enjoy cooking, traveling, running, photography, crafting, concerts, and spending time with my family and friends.
