Job Description
Vector's partner located in Mentor, Ohio, is a family-owned business of nearly 50 years, making OEM assembly line components for world class customers, looking for a Senior CNC Mill Operator to join their team.
Available Shifts:
2nd Shift (3p-1:30a) - up to $35/hr., depending upon skills
OT is available
MUST BE ABLE TO TRAIN ON 1ST SHIFT
Job Summary: Â
Operate CNC Milling Machines (Vertical and Horizontal). Load raw material (bars, sheet and plate steel, etc), with assistance of overhead crane, as needed, into equipment. Enter programs into controller, verify tooling and offsets, and cycle cutting sequence. Review first part and obtain production approval by completing first piece inspection using engineering drawings and inspection reports. Continue production run after receiving approval. Remove finished parts and scrap material from equipment. Complete all required documentation. Work shift of 8 to 10 hours per day, Monday through Friday with occasional Saturday shifts as needed.Â
In addition to the above operator level summary, this individual must be capable of setting up existing production jobs on a variety of machining centers (vertical and horizontal, 3 and 4 axis, etc). This includes, but is not limited to, finding zero and reference points, setting tool lengths and offsets, locating and fixturing parts, etc. Individual must also be able to troubleshoot low level issues and maintain production with minimal support. Should be capable of making minor programming updates as needed and able to identify/utilize proper tooling to make parts which meet all production and quality specifications.Â
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•   Safety o   Follow all safety policies set by Safety Coordinator
o   Use all required personal protective equipment
o   Ensure all processes are completed in safe manner
o   Identify and report any safety related issues •   Quality o   Follow all procedures and quality requirements
o   Complete in-process inspections using various testing equipment
o   Identify and report any non-conforming materials •   Quantity o   Complete work as scheduled by department supervisor
o   Work diligently to meet efficiency metrics consistently
o   Identify and report any process related issues or inefficiencies   Â
Secondary Duties and Skills:
•   Follow all policies and procedures of the Employee Manual
•   Read and comprehend engineering drawings and specifications
•   Ability to interpret and execute written and/or verbal job instructions
•   Sheetmetal working background preferred, not required
•   Operator multiple machines or processes as needed
•   Complete weekly cleaning and operator level maintenance as required
•   Provide feedback for continuous improvement
•   Reliable and punctual with strong work ethics
•   Work in a team-based environment
•   Basic math and computer skills
