Job Description
Vector's partner located in Cleveland, OH offers a complete package of stainless steel pipe, tubing, fittings, outlets, thread tape, flanges and valves as well as the nation’s largest, most comprehensive inventory of both leaded & lead-free cast brass fittings, flanges and pipe. They are looking for a Shipping Specialist to join their team!
1st Shift (9a-5:30p)
$16.50+/hr.
Objectives
• Complete daily tasks to support shipping operations.
• Supports team members to maintain efficiencies in all warehouse functions.
• Complete daily functions of the role in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
• Uphold the company corporate mission statement, acting with a sense of urgency and upholding the core values as published.
• Maintain a professional, ethical and respectful attitude while exercising teamwork.
Responsibilities
• Process and package customer orders per written procedures / work instructions for UPS and Truck orders
• Accurately pick product using RF scanning equipment
• Meet or exceed minimum production goals.
• To assist in all activities that support shipping functions, on time delivery of product and customer (internal and external) satisfaction.
• Perform other duties that may be assigned to support overall company operations.
• Willingness and ability to work overtime when asked by a manager or supervisor.
Requirements
• High school graduate, G.E.D., or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to do basic high school level math.
• Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
• Ability to measure to the nearest 1/16”.
• Must be able to stand, reach, bend, push and pull bulky material for the entire shift and capable of lifting 50-70 lbs. frequently
• Must be able to operate all Powered Industrial Equipment (PIE) (including but not limited to pallet jacks, stand up/sit down tow motors, cherry pickers, WAVE machines, cranes, Booms, etc.) by adhering to the company's safety procedures/processes
• Excellent work habits, including punctuality, attendance and work ethic
• Ability to learn product line and corresponding identification numbers.
• Ability to learn basic computer functions, bar code scanning, and operation of material handling equipment.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed
• Ability to work safely, accurately, and productively in a fast paced, changing environment.
• Capacity to work in a Total Quality Management (TQM) environment
• Certification or experience with powered material handling equipment.
• Knowledge of RF scanning
