Our client, a global provider of engineered electronics, has an IMMEDIATE need for a TEST TECHNICIAN at their facility in Perry, Ohio!

1st Shift
$18-$25/hr. (Direct-Hire)

The Test Technician's responsibility is to ensure that final circuit boards are operational and troubleshoots, repairs or reworks as necessary.

  • perform Class 1 and 2 tests with minimal training
  • test Class 3 tests with assistance and oversight of a Senior Test Technician
  • read and interpret schematics/prints related to assigned boards
  • troubleshoot assigned assemblies (simple to intermediate level complexity) with minimal training or assistance from other techs or senior techs
  • use the Test Troubleshooting database to input information, and utilizes information already there from previous debug
  • review Post Wave Instructions prior to rework for any special requirements such as Solder, Baking Requirements, Tools, IPC class and Specific Instruction
  • perform assigned set ups with minimal assistance
  • use test equipment
  • complete applicable paperwork
  • properly complete shortage/overage sheets and able to determine the disposition of NCM per QP6/4-01 and QP11/10-01
  • identify work order number, assembly number, assembly revision
  • identify an ECR or pink change order when in folders, and knows to stop and determine required actions for ECRs
  • find stock locations, part availability, and "where used" inquiries
  • familiar with test area tally sheet and entry requirements and materials
  • locate manufacturing instructions and test procedures
  • perform the proper set up and operation of the thermal transfer printers and navigate the Easylabel label printing program
  • operate basic electronic test equipment (DMM, power supply, oscilloscope)
  • properly install and remove ICs from sockets to avoid damage
  • start, select program and properly shut down a computer
  • follow a test procedure and recognizing electronic values, such as volts, amps, ohms, farads
  • follow process for 1st-piece and in-process inspections
  • properly complete a test failure tag and make test tally entry per SOP12/1-02
  • perform team member training per QP10/1-01 and applicable SOPS and test procedures
  • determine defects that could potentially be found at AOI and understands the importance of returning assembly for re-inspection
  • set up and operate BP programmer per SOP 7/2-104
  • after initial testing stamp, de-panel all boards, etc. As stated in manufacturing instructions during downtime phase of subsequent assemblies
  • all safety and Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) requirements of the area
  • principles of ESD and uses ESD precautions in material handling
  • ITAR restrictions when dealing with badges and ITAR related materials and documentation
  • the 6S system (Sort, Simplify, Sweep, Standardize, Self-Discipline, Safety) and adheres to and encourages others to comply with the principles
  • the Green Sheet program and our efforts to continuously improve
  • the company’ s mission statement, quality policy and performance metrics and understands their part in making it successful

  • Education/Experience/Credentials: Formal electronics training with certificate/degree and 1 year of experience or equivalent experience OR 2 years of experience testing, troubleshooting/ repairing electronic products and successful completion of Test Technician Test. Understanding of electronics workmanship standards and requirements.
  • Language Ability: Excellent communication both written and verbal. Ability to read and analyze periodicals, business reports, correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, Team Members and the general public. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions. The Individual must possess strong skills in grammar and proofreading.
  • Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to collect data, solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to maintain a professional and positive image in any situation using good judgment.
  • Computer Skills: Ability to use office software, including Word processing, Spreadsheets, Internet browsers, E-mail, and business systems software.
