Welder
Job Description
Vector's partner located in Mentor, Ohio, is a family-owned business of nearly 50 years, making OEM assembly line components for world class customers, looking for Welders to join their team.
Available Shifts:
1st Shift (6a-2:30p) - starting pay is $19/hr.
2nd Shift (3p-11:30p) - starting pay is $24/hr.
Starting wages can be higher, depending upon experience.
Work shift of 8 to 10 hours per day, Monday through Friday with occasional Saturday shifts as needed.
Job Summary:
Perform Manual Welding tasks and Operate Robotic Welding equipment. Load raw material (sheet and plate steel), with assistance of overhead crane, onto equipment/fixtures. Enter programs into controller, verify setup complete and cycle welding sequence. Use predetermined weld settings and processes. Review first part and obtain production approval by completing first piece inspection using engineering drawings and inspection reports. Continue production run after receiving approval. Remove finished parts from equipment/fixtures. Complete all required documentation.
Responsibilities:

- Use all required personal protective equipment
- Ensure all processes are completed in safe manner
- Identify and report any safety related issues
- Quality
- Follow all procedures and quality requirements
- Complete in-process inspections using various testing equipment
- Identify and report any non-conforming materials
- Quantity
- Complete work as scheduled by department supervisor
- Work diligently to meet efficiency metrics consistently
- Identify and report any process related issues or inefficiencies
- Read and comprehend engineering drawings and specifications
- Ability to interpret and execute written and/or verbal job instructions
- Sheetmetal working background preferred, not required
- Operator multiple machines or processes as needed
- Complete weekly cleaning and operator level maintenance as required
- Provide feedback for continuous improvement
- Reliable and punctual with strong work ethics
- Work in a team-based environment
- Basic math and computer skills
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand verbal and written communications
- Must be able to pass required drug testing and physical
- Able to lift 42 pounds
