Vector’s Lake County partner client is a leading aerospace manufacturer and they are looking for an experienced Honing Specialist to join their team ASAP.

Shift: 1st Shift
Pay: Dependent upon experience
 

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate honing equipment to finish parts to print requirements
• Produce high-accuracy bores and surface finishes per specifications
• Use honing oils/coolants to lubricate parts and prevent overheating/burning during the process
• Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
• Work to close tolerances and verify dimensions using precision measuring tools
• Perform sub-assembly work as needed (including matchfit work)

Requirements

• Prior honing experience in a precision machining environment
• Strong blueprint reading / GD&T knowledge
• Proven ability to hold tight tolerances
• Comfort working in a quality-driven manufacturing setting (aerospace preferred)

Equipment Experience (Preferred)

• Sunnen honing machines
• Vertical Deep Hole Honing equipment
