Job Description

Vector's partner in Mentor, OH designs and manufactures conveyor systems, they are looking for a Production Welder!

1st Shift  M-F  
Pay is dependent upon experience
Overtime may be required

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable Production Welder with General Labor capabilities to join our team. This position supports daily manufacturing operations by performing general production tasks, operating equipment, and completing welding assignments as needed. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and able to work in a fast-paced production environment.
Employees will receive on-the-job training and have opportunities for advancement into skilled welding, machine operation, or supervisory positions within the company.

 

Key Responsibilities
Production & General Labor

  • Move materials throughout the facility using forklifts and/or overhead cranes.
  • Perform assembly operations and support production processes.
  • Operate manufacturing equipment includes presses, shears, brakes, and saws.
  • Package finished products for shipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Perform general plant labor to ensure safe, efficient, and quality production.
  • Assist with equipment setup and minor maintenance as needed.
Welding Responsibilities
  • Interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and measurements to plan welding layouts.
  • Perform welding operations according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions when required.
  • Inspect welded components to ensure accuracy and structural integrity.
  • Monitor welding equipment and machinery for proper operation and temperature.
  • Change welding wire, consumables, and gas tanks as needed.
  • Identify defects and perform minor corrections when necessary.
  • Robotic welding experience preferred.
  • Operate robotic welding cells to meet daily production targets.
  • Load, position, and secure materials or components into fixtures for robotic welding.
  • Monitor weld quality and make minor adjustments to robot settings as needed.
  • Perform routine inspections, cleaning, and basic maintenance on welding robots and related equipment.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of welded parts using gauges, calipers, and other measuring tools.
  • Assist with robot program adjustments under the guidance of a technician
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Use proper PPE including welding helmets, gloves, protective clothing, and safety footwear.
  • Maintain awareness of workplace hazards and contribute to a safe working environment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Welding certificate from an accredited institution preferred.
  • 1–2 years of welding or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.
  • Ability to use hand tools and measuring equipment (tape measure, calipers, micrometers)
  • Experience operating basic production machinery is a plus.
  • Experience operating forklifts or cranes is preferred.
  • Strong safety awareness
  • Valid driver’s license required.
