Job Description
Vector Technical Inc. has partnered with a Mentor, OH leading manufacturer of automation systems. They are looking for the right person to join their team as a Shipping & Receiving/Inventory Coordinator.
1st Shift
$17-$20/hr., depending upon skills
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping/ Receiving and Inventory Coordinator to join our team. This role is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing materials, inspecting deliveries for accuracy and quality, and ensuring all items are properly stored and organized within the facility.
The ideal candidate will maintain accurate inventory levels of consumables, parts, and raw materials while supporting efficient production operations. This position plays a key role in maintaining organized inventory systems and ensuring materials are available when needed.
This position also involves general production labor as needed to assist with production operators. Employees will receive on-the-job training and have opportunities for advancement within operations, logistics, and production management.
Responsibilities:
• Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, damage, and compliance with purchase orders.
• Verify quantities, part numbers, and condition of incoming materials.
• Unload trucks using forklifts or other material handling equipment.
• Label and store materials in designated warehouse or production locations.
• Prepare and package outgoing shipments according to company and carrier requirements.
• Coordinate shipping schedules and documentation with carriers and internal departments.
• Maintain organized shipping and receiving areas.
General Labor
• Assist production teams with general plant labor as needed.
• Move materials and finished products throughout the facility.
• Support packaging and preparation of products for shipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse and work environment.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment.
• Help stage materials for production operations.
• Perform other tasks as assigned to support efficient plant operations.
Material Handling
• Move materials throughout the facility using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
• Deliver materials to production areas as needed.
• Ensure safe handling and storage of all materials.
• Maintain clear and organized storage locations for inventory.
Safety & Compliance
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Use proper PPE including safety footwear, gloves, and protective equipment.
• Maintain awareness of workplace hazards and contribute to a safe working environment.
• Ensure safe operation of forklifts and material handling equipment.
Requirements
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, or inventory experience preferred.
• Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment preferred.
• Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and shipping documentation.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Strong attention to detail
• Organizational and inventory management skills
• Ability to read packing slips and purchase orders
• Basic computer and data entry skills
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Strong safety awareness
